It’s Christmas Eve Eve, we’ve all broken up from work and school, and, it’s Friday. How many more reasons for a cocktail do you need…
It’s been a long time since I drank Tia Maria, it used to be the drink of choice when I was a naughty teenager! So it’s bringing back lots of nostalgia about now! It hasn’t been that long since I had a coffee though, because, well, survival depends on it to be honest! When the lovely people of Tia Maria asked me if I wanted to try out a coffee based cocktail, I really had to consider it carefully before I screamed HELL YES.
Start with some strong coffee, I used an espresso pod in the coffee machine, and leave it to cool. You don’t need much per glass, around 25/30ml.
Pour 25ml of Tia Maria to a jug, add the cooled coffee and 50ml of fresh milk, then mix together over ice. It would be great, if at this point, you had a cocktail maker, which unfortunately, I don’t, because this is when you can show off your bartender moves and really get into the festive spirit. Add a dash of vanilla syrup to taste.
Once it’s all mixed, and cooled perfectly, pour it into a sexy martini glass (shaken, not stirred) and revel in your fantastic-ness you snazzy Christmas Cocktail drinker you.
