It’s been a long week, the weather has been awful (welcome to the UK in April, we have all the weather in one day) and so, if I want to search the internet looking for a dream villa in a dream destination, then, I think I will.
And do you know what I’ve decided? Husband, if you’re reading this, hold onto your wallet, South of France here we come.
To be more specific, the Cote d’Azur. I mean, why go to the South of France and not do it properly.
Culture & Passion
I am a complete and utter Francophile, I’ve said it a million times before, I love everything about France. The culture, the language, the passion, the food – everything. I will live there for a year, one day.
We’ve been to France a few times, and each time I’ve fallen a little more in love. The husband speaks fluent French, the language of love, and you’ve never seen a grown woman melt quicker than when he does it.
The Cote d’Azur, or The French Riviera, is the Mediterranean coast of southeastern France and is probably the most glamorous coastline. White sandy beaches, warm weather, shopping and amazing food. Do you see where I’m going with this….?
It’s known as the playground of the rich and famous (clearly, this is why I am planning on going) and is home to the Cannes Film Festival, Monaco Grand Prix and the Monte Carlo Casino.
On the non shallow side, it also has the historic village of Marsaille, Fort Saint-Jean and the Notre-Dame de la Garde. There is also 75 miles of coastline and 25 miles of beach.
I am a big believer in staying in holiday accommodation that is better than your own home, because you want it to feel like a treat, if you’ve worked hard all year to get to your holiday destination, you’re going to want a little bit of something special. Aren’t you?
So, ladies and gentlemen, I have found *the* most luxurious villa in Mougins, in which I wish to stay forever more.
Chosen as one of The Times’ 50 best villas in the Med, it is stunning. There’s a heated pool, interiors designed by Christian Liaigre, underfloor heating, air con, wifi, a jacuzzi and all the latest appliances. It is just beautiful to look at. I wonder, if you stay in a place as amazing at this, if you would struggle to tear yourself away from it to visit the area you’re staying in? Does too much luxury make you lazy?
Wouldn’t you like the chance to find out, just once?
This villa, which I found on Clickstay, is near to Mougins which has lots of medieval buildings, narrow side streets and squares full of cafes and restaurants. A 20 minute drive inland takes you to Grasse, perfume capital, with medieval villages hidden in the hills above the Riviera.
Is this not my dream?! Yes, is the answer, it is.
The villa sleeps 8, which is good, because you’ll probably want to split the £12,735 per week cost between everyone. I did say it was luxurious didn’t I…..
Imagine, if you will, having enough money in the bank (an offshore one I would guess) to be able to afford this kind of villa. I would hazard a guess that you would probably be having more than one or two holidays a year, hell, you might even have your own private jet to get you there.
I know I’ve written a lot lately about appreciating the small things, and now I’ve gone full circle into millionaires-ville, but a girl has to keep her options open, and her husband on his toes.
And, who’s not to say that one day, when I’ve sold three bestsellers and my columns are in all the glossies, that I won’t be able to take the bloke on a little jaunt across to France?
You can always dream can’t you.
