Sometimes, as a blogger, you get moments where you need to do a little squeal. Like when you get invited on an amazing trip, or you visit a French restaurant that has been on your bucket list for ages, or, like now, when you get the chance to pick a designer pair of glasses for each member of your family.
SmartBuy Glasses contacted me and asked me to review a pair of their sunglasses. Now, being the designer snob that I am, I was MORE than excited to have a look at the selection! It took me a long time, and a lot of to-ing and fro-ing (and some serious drooling) I finally settled on these absolute beauties from Givenchy.
They’re oversized, metal, full rim glasses in a beautiful gold and copper colour. And they are soooooo pretty. Just look at them! I love the detailing on the arm, who doesn’t love a little Givenchy stamp on their sunglasses.
They are an amazing quality, which you would expect from such a brand, but they’re a lot more delicate than any of the other sunglasses I own, so I am very, very careful to always take their case out with me, there is no way these babies are being thrown to the bottom of my bag along with the rest of my life!
The husband, also a design lover, went for these by Persol. Made in Italy, the folding (yup!) sunglasses come in 8 colours, but he chose this brown/amber shade. The fact that they fold, practically in half, means he can always carry them around with him if he’s not in the car. Unlike us women, men don’t seem to wear their sunglasses on their head, so they need another storage option!
The wayfarer design really suits him, and is going to be a classic style that stays around forever. Plus, little trivia fact for you here, Steve McQueen wore Persol folding glasses in The Thomas Crown Affair. Yup.
Next up, the fusspot. Otherwise known as the teenager. She looked at the site and within seconds, literally seconds, she had chosen the pair for her! Classic, super stylish, perfect for the mother to borrow, RayBan aviators. Loving her style.
And, last, but no means least. The little dude. Now, I would never normally buy him designer anything. A; he grows too fast. B; he breaks things too fast. But, how could we resist these Junior blue RayBans?! They fit him perfectly and I love the fact that they have proper UV protection. And, how cool does he look!?
