Shopping For A New Home And A New Start

Shopping For A New Home And A New Start

We’re in the throes of moving house. There are boxes EVERYWHERE. Actually everywhere. The house is a mess because we can’t really clean around the boxes, and all of the good stuff – skincare, alcohol and so on, is packed.

It’s also 90 degrees in the shade – so, ya know, it’s all good fun!

BUT the end is in sight. The new house is slowly but surely getting filled with all of our crap belongings and it’s starting to look like home.

We’ll just forget about the fact that we have to clean the old house from top to bottom and paint a bathroom in the next day or two. Uh huh. Glossing right over that.

I love my ‘old’ living room, Downpipe grey & bright accessories – it felt like us for a good few years, but moving into the new place, which is all white walls and wooden flooring, it’s all so fresh and clean, I love it! It’s making me question my colour choices!

Obviously, going to have to get a few new bits to christen the new home. Some of my cushions need replacing, and I will definitely need more candles, because, well, just because. That means trips to Ikea, online shopping from the comfort of my new living room on Sello, ASOS & John Lewis. It’s a hard life but someone has to live it. Plus, if I’m saving money and grabbing some bargains, it would be criminal not to

While my palette may have calmed down on the wall colour front, I’m not going to bypass the crazy cushions, insane lampshades or weird and wonderful tat that I love. I’m moving house not changing personalities! And I can’t tell you how excited I am about having windows in my kitchen, a huge new bath, in which an actual adult can fit AND a dining room.

Living the dream!

I suppose I should get off the laptop and get back to shifting the boxes. The poor husband can’t do it all by himself!

(not my actual house….!)
