Despite it being the summer holidays, a lot of us are still (always!) in work mode, or, if we’re not, we’re planning to get back into it come September, which is the new work year in my opinion!
Most of us spend so much time at work, it’s almost a home from home, so it’s important to make sure it’s as comfortable as it can be. Anything to make that time at work as enjoyable as possible! Because, even if you enjoy your job, there’s no place quite like home.
There are so many products available, things like anti glare screens, writs supports, chairs with raised neck/arms, raised desks so you can sit or stand and anti-fatigue matting from Safety Matting Supplies.
Most are pretty self explanatory, but, anti-fatigue matting sounds a little bit futuristic, what is it and how does it actually stop fatigue in the workplace?
Anti-fatigue mats are designed to reduce tiredness for someone after they have been standing for a long period of time.
Manufactured from a specific type of foam, it’s perfect for use in areas like engineering , manufacturing or food preparation & processing or any other industrial or commercial area. Ideal for use on all kinds of floor covering, anti-fatigue matting is slip resistant and cushioned which makes them softer to stand on which means you can work more effectively whilst keeping the flooring around them free from mess and spillages.
If you’re standing still in your job for a long time, anti-fatigue matting could be perfect for you. It, surprisingly has a few health benefits, as it aims to reduce all common symptoms associated with long-standing jobs like back and foot pain, weariness, poor posture and stress by forcing the muscles in your legs to contract gently, which maintains blood flow and circulation around the body. Because this creates more oxygen, you feel less tired than you would if you were just standing still.
It’s definitely something to look at if your job means you’re on your feet in one place for a long period of time, and would mean that you feel less tired in your job, and, as a benefit, you get more work done, which is never a bad thing!
I wonder if you can get anti-fatigue matting for those of us who spend our days at desks, an anti-fatigue matting for chairs maybe!
