My little man is 1 in a week and a half. I’m sure I’ve mentioned that a few times already! But honestly, it’s like I’m shocked. I’m pretty sure I was at the birth, so the date is not a surprise! But it’s come round so fast! And all of a sudden he seems so much more “grown up”

He had to have a haircut on Thursday as his hair grows quite fast. This is his 2nd chop!!

This is him before:

During:

And after!:

I hope you’ll agree he is absolutely bloody gorgeous! When I go into get him in the morning, I forget he’s had his hair cut and it’s like looking at it for the first time again! I think he looks so grown up! My baby is now a toddler.

OK. Listen up. If you see this sign somewhere in your local supermarket and you DON’T have a bump/baby/toddler/small child then keep on driving.

I don’t care if it’s raining, snowing, if you’re tired, you have a lot of bags, you’re running late, you only had a “few” things to get. Whatever your excuse is, it’s not good enough.

These spaces are designed to make shopping with a small person just a tiny bit easier. If you had a child with you, you’d understand why that is so welcome.

So, get out of that space and use one of the other 500 or so in the car park. Those things hanging out from the bottom of your body, they’re called legs, use them.

Rant over.

Thank you.

Taking photos!

Having a photographer for a husband does have it’s perks sometimes, and today was one of those days. He set up the studio in our kitchen and we now have some gorgeous pictures of little miss & little man! (and a few of us two as well!)

It was great fun, little miss loved having her photo taken and posing as much as possible and even little man got into the spirit of things! Here are a few of my favourite pictures…

I’m sure you’ll agree they look fab, and I have a very clever hubby.

Just while I’m on a roll!

Not sure if any of you have noticed, but we’ve had a little snow the last week!?

So, here is a picture of my gorgeous Holly & me out on the aerodrome, freezing? Yes! Fun? Absolutley!

My clever little boy has learnt lots of new things in the last couple of weeks!

He can now cruise round the furniture one handed (won’t be long until he’s walking at this rate!)

Wave hello and goodbye! (He has two waves, a bit like the queen) One is a small turn of the fingers and the other is a big “wavey” wave! Depending on his mood you could get either!

Clapping! All of a sudden he’s started clapping! He’s always been very musical, the type of baby who can’t control it! As soon as he hears music, that’s it, he’s off bouncing and swaying his head in time to the music! But now he can clap along to it as well! He is very proud of this achievement, and even more so when his claps make lots of noise!!

My baby is growing up very fast, 74 days until he is 1!? This time last year I was the size of a large house, very excited about my lovely birth I had planned! (Little did I know!) ((WHOLE other blog post there)) but, 10 months down the line, my perfect little boy is growing and thriving.

Somebody said to me today on twitter that we make gorgeous children. Yup, we certainly do!!!

I don’t normally make new years resolutions, purely because I never stick to them, but this year I am going to make one, or maybe two.

The first one is to blog MORE! And make it interesting. I seem to have all these idea’s pop into my head during the day that I think will make good reading, and then something else happens and I completely forget! I could carry a notepad around with me, in my huge mary poppins bag, or my change bag (plenty of room!) and jot down my ideas when they hit, but then I’d probably forget to back the pad, then spend ages looking for something to write on, find it, and forget what the hell I was meant to write! (A bit like when I go to the bedroom to get something, stand there for 5 minutes replaying all the conversations I had leading up to it, then walk out empty handed because I just can’t remember!)

So, I will remember to remember. Which would give me another N.Y.R, to be more organised! God knows I need to!!

The other one is to get to my target weight! Charlie is now 9 months old, and thankfuly I’m smaller than my pre preg weight (yay!) but I have half a stone to go. By the end of January I will be there. And hubby is taking me shopping to celebrate. He doesn’t know that yet, but he is!!

Its New Years Eve 2009. A whole decade has gone by so I thought I would end this year with a new blog (I’ll do my xmas update soon!)
The last 10 years have all had something important happen, so in short, here is my decade list!

2000 – I started my most favourite job. Not because of the work but because of the people. McNicholas was great!

2001 – I married the man of my dreams! (together for 12 years this year!)

2002 – Our gorgeous little miss was born, Holly Megan!

2003 – We moved house! (plus a little lady’s 1st holiday and birthday!)

2004 – (this year is proving to be a blank!)

2005 – We sadly lost our 2nd baby xx

2006 – Bought our 1st property and began IVF for the 1st time.

2007 – IVF no. 2 (both failed) Two VERY hard years.

2008 – Fell pregnant with Little man!!

2009 – Charlie Michael was born!!

Doesn’t look like much when it’s written down, but something major happened every year for the last 10 years, and yet, thinking about it, it doesn’t seem like 10 years have passed. All these events are so fresh in my mind, it’s like months ago not years!

This year has also been eventful! In Jan Hubby was made redundant, which wasn’t too much of a surprise considering the state of the country! But hard to deal with when you’re 7.5 months pregnant. In March I had an emergency c-section & spent 3 weeks in intensive care after, due to blood poisoning, fluid in the pelvis, womb infection & pneumonia! (Bubba was at home with Daddy!) April & May were pretty much a blur of recovery! September my little miss started her last year of infant school, October she turned 7, and… here we are!

It’s been hard work at times, and I have to say I’ve wondered what on earth we would do, but with the love and support of my gorgeous husband, and my amazing parents, we’ve made it through the year AND the decade in one piece!

I’ll be sad to see the back of 2009 as this was the year my baby boy arrived, but I’ll also be happy to welcome in 2010! Who knows what may happen!!

Well, surprise surprise Little Man now has chicken pox. Poor little thing is covered, his face has been hit the most, although he is still gorgeous!

He’s really been struggling to sleep, and so have I come to think of it! It seems calpol and piriton don’t help much, and the only thing that makes him feel better is throwing himself around in the cot in the vain hope of stopping the itch, or being walked around the living room with the extractor fan running.

We shared a bed last night and poor hubby slept on the floor, so we did manage a few more hours than the previous night, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed he will have a better night tonight.

Excuse the short and boring blog update today! I promise to be much more entertaining next time, Little miss and I are making Christmas decorations over the weekend, visiting Santa (first time for little man, and they’re both spotty! I’m sure Santa will understand!?) and maybe even attempting some sort of xmasy cakes!

Let the festivities begin!!!

As you’ve probably guessed from the title of this blog, someone has the dreaded pox! Poor little miss is covered from head to toe, literally.

She went to bed monday night complaining of a headache, but generally quite well, then at 4am tuesday morning (as hubs was feeding little man) she came flying into the living room crying her eyes out. After a cuddle I felt how hot she was and was getting a bit worried. Then, the digital thermometer started to do a strange beep and flash and was showing a temp of 41.8, so at this point I really did start to worry!

We decided to call NHS direct as swine flu seems to be going round her school at the moment and we didn’t to risk any delays.

NHS direct were fab, and got a doctor to call us back pretty much straight away. The doctor thought it sounded more like a severe ear infection (ear pain, neck pain, headache and very high temp) so told us to take her into the local hospital to be checked. IF she did have swine flu she would be given a face mask to wear. God.

Hubs took her to the hospital, I stayed home with little man, A; because we didn’t want to take him out in the cold and into a hospital full of sick people, and B; because I hate that hospital with a vengence (a whole other blog post!) Luckily she was seen very fast, and, big sigh of relief, chicken pox!

She left the house spot free (otherwise even I would have spotted it!) and came back with 4 behind her ear and a few on her neck. Over the next few hours it was like spot the spot! They were actually popping up in front of our eyes!

She (and we!) spent most of tuesday sleeping, but each time she woke up, she had more spots. I would say she now has around 100 on her face and neck alone. Strangely enough her right cheek is completely clear?!

The itching has started now, so has the grumps. I can’t say I blame her though! Who would be happy with that!?

We’re now faced with the dilema of little man. Do we purposely expose him to it and hope he gets a mild case out of the way, or do we avoid it and hope he gets it later!? In all honesty, I’m hoping he doesn’t get it, and then I will be paying for the chicken pox vaccine. WHY it’s not offered routinely I will never know, what point is there making a child suffer for no reason? If I had known about it before I would have marched Little Miss straight there to get her vaccinated.

Sorry little miss.

Get well soon bubba. We love you lots.

Ok, so technically this was taken on a Friday, but I was far too busy to post this yesterday! 15 kids, 3 babies and 7 adults were round for a late birthday party, early halloween party!!

Hubs took some amazing pictures, but my favourite by far is this one, my two spooky babies.

The party went very well, all the children had a great time, lots of noise, food, party games, presents and laughing! (Along with some headache tablets, lots of tea and a few OH MY GOD moments for the parents!)

Next year, somebody remind me just how much noise they made…..

Nando’s for dinner on LM’s birthday! She’s having chicken and chips, he’s having garlic bread and chips!! (Stolen from Bisters plate!!)

And last but not least, just how brothers and sisters should be.

Yup, 3 in a row!

Monday was also a special day for Mr Man. He got his first pair of baby shoes from Clarks!!

With Little Miss we missed crawling shoes completely as her feet were too big for them! She had to go straight to walkers even though she was crawling, so this time I was determined to get the crawlers at any cost!

Bluewater Clarks had the shoes we liked, but not in his size. Like his Bister, he also has big feet! 2.5 H to be exact, and apparently baby shoes don’t really come in that size! So, John Lewis and Russell & Bromley kids drew a blank too, we legged it under the bridge to Lakeside. (Feels like I’m cheating on Bluewater, not good!) We did check first of course, and yes, they had his shoes in his size! It’s like baby cinderella!!!

We got there, and Mr Man decided it was a good time for a nap, so mean mummy had to wake him up to try the shoes on and get the picture card to keep! And I think you’ll agree he looks gorgeous in them!!
