Festive Cocktails With Fentimans // Sour Sleigh Ride

The second cocktail in the Fentimans based double is the Sour Sleigh Ride. This is a whiskey based drink mixed with Fentimans Ginger Beer and Muddled Lime. Yesterday’s Blackberry Gin Fizz was a short drink (is that the right term?) so I’ve switched it up and gone for a long drink. Should last you a little bit longer, and I would imagine it isn’t as strong as the short one. I could be wrong though!

It’s a sweet and sour drink, and it’s definitely warming with the whiskey base, so it is perfect for the chilly nights at this time of year! And the name is pretty bang on don’t you think? I would imagine Father Christmas would be quite happy sipping on this while he’s doing his rounds on Christmas Eve.

My 8yo is obsessed with Ginger Beer, I’m pretty sure he thinks it’s alcoholic so he’s being grown up when he drinks it! I’m not a huge fan of it as it’s so spicy and almost feels too hot to drink, if that makes sense, but the men of the house love it, so the big one was more than happy to taste this festive cocktail for me!

Festive Cocktails With Fentimans // Sour Sleigh Ride
Ingredients//
  • 25ml Scotch Whiskey (we used Monkey’s Shoulder but you can use whichever one you like)
  • Fentimans Ginger Beer & Muddled Lime
  • Fresh Orange Juice
  • Fresh Lemon Juice
  • Slice of Lemon
  • Ice
Directions//

1: Add ice to a tall glass

2: Pour in 25ml of your favourite whiskey

3: Add the freshly squeezed orange and lemon juice

4: Top with Fentimans Ginger Beer & Muddled Lime

5: Add a slice of lemon and a dash of sugar syrup if it’s too sour for your taste buds.

6: Drink & Be Merry!

This one is just as easy as the Blackberry Gin Fizz, aside of a little fruit squeezing! You could always buy fresh juice if you’re making a few of these throughout the night, I’m sure it would taste just as good!

What’s your favourite festive cocktail?
