The decade that was….

Its New Years Eve 2009. A whole decade has gone by so I thought I would end this year with a new blog (I’ll do my xmas update soon!)
The last 10 years have all had something important happen, so in short, here is my decade list!

2000 – I started my most favourite job. Not because of the work but because of the people. McNicholas was great!

2001 – I married the man of my dreams! (together for 12 years this year!)

2002 – Our gorgeous little miss was born, Holly Megan!

2003 – We moved house! (plus a little lady’s 1st holiday and birthday!)

2004 – (this year is proving to be a blank!)

2005 – We sadly lost our 2nd baby xx

2006 – Bought our 1st property and began IVF for the 1st time.

2007 – IVF no. 2 (both failed) Two VERY hard years.

2008 – Fell pregnant with Little man!!

2009 – Charlie Michael was born!!

Doesn’t look like much when it’s written down, but something major happened every year for the last 10 years, and yet, thinking about it, it doesn’t seem like 10 years have passed. All these events are so fresh in my mind, it’s like months ago not years!

This year has also been eventful! In Jan Hubby was made redundant, which wasn’t too much of a surprise considering the state of the country! But hard to deal with when you’re 7.5 months pregnant. In March I had an emergency c-section & spent 3 weeks in intensive care after, due to blood poisoning, fluid in the pelvis, womb infection & pneumonia! (Bubba was at home with Daddy!) April & May were pretty much a blur of recovery! September my little miss started her last year of infant school, October she turned 7, and… here we are!

It’s been hard work at times, and I have to say I’ve wondered what on earth we would do, but with the love and support of my gorgeous husband, and my amazing parents, we’ve made it through the year AND the decade in one piece!

I’ll be sad to see the back of 2009 as this was the year my baby boy arrived, but I’ll also be happy to welcome in 2010! Who knows what may happen!!

I can imagine how precious your son must be after all that. I had iui to conceive my son, and miscarried another iui baby this year. We start iui again in jan but if it doesn't work within a few months we are Ivf bound 🙁 so pleased you got through it all with a happy ending x

It's astounding how quickly the decade has past, and good for you writing it down in this way as a record. We also went through more than a handful of unsuccessful IVF treatments until our little E (now 10) was born. I'm delighted that you had a great success. Good luck in 2010. Hopefully the economic decline will tiptoe its way out of the dark woods and we will all have an easier time. x
